Worship follows a traditional reformed Presbyterian format. We sing a collection of Psalms, Paraphrases and Hymns. The Penninghame St John's sanctuary for morning worship is over 150 years old and contains many features of the reformed church.
Bargrennan is the smaller of the two sanctuaries, situated near Glentrool village. Worship takes place here once a month, as the two congregations are now united in one as the Parish of Penninghame.
This takes place in the church hall of Penninghame St John's and is a more informal service, giving the opportunity to sing praise old and new and with the help of modern technology.
Central to both services is the tradition of expository biblical preaching where we seek to understand God's unchanging truth in an ever-changing world.
